Confessions of a Former Acid Reflux

[ad_1]

What would you do if you were suddenly free from your GERD or acid reflux symptoms?

I mean, all of them… from a bloated stomach, to nausea and vomiting, to that fire in the belly (heartburn), to mind-numbing headaches… you know what I mean. All its symptoms.

Think back in time when you can recall the days where you were pain-free and could do almost anything you can imagine. Now I know that’s not particularly true as one naturally ages, but what I’m referring to here is the quality of one’s life. How would you like to get back yours?

Before you even think about throwing water in the “high hopes fireplace” that we’re building on, remember this:

Acid reflux is a simple message from your body telling you that something’s wrong inside.

As such, no amount of antacids such as Tums, or proton pump inhibitors such as Nexium are going to do the job and cure your condition. Your gastro-enterologist can spend all the time in the world inspecting your esophagus, and give you all kinds of diagnosis – for better or for worse, but as far as it goes, you and I know that for the record, doctors are good in diagnosis, but they don’t do well when it comes to treatment.

Because “Big Pharma” comes up and unloads them with a pile of drugs, antibiotics, liquids and stuff that yes, might take away your symptoms… that’s only good for the next month or so.

Then what? The symptoms come back, either of the same kind or in a worse degree, and here’s conventional medicine again prescribing a higher dosage of the same drug, and along with that, another drug to add to the roster (one that you even have trouble pronouncing for GERD’s sake!)

If you are like me, you probably have given conventional methods of treatment a name. We call it the “band-aid” approach. “Hey, there’s a wound! Gimme one strap… Splat!… Hey, there’s another scratch over there! Another one if you please.. Splat!” You get the picture. It is funny in words, but in life – in real life, it’s a different story. One that’s thought provoking and needs serious consideration.

The next time your doctor calls you for an appointment, do yourself a favor. Ask questions. Be inquisitive on the procedures he wants to do. Don’t just follow his lead. Let him know that you want the complete sets of possible side effects that this drug is capable of giving. And if you’re one of the first to try it out. Make sure you’re getting your money’s worth.

Then weigh your options. Think hard if this would really benefit you in the long run, especially with your desire to get back your life – not just to get by and survive… but be fully alive again, and acid reflux free!

Sometimes, it helps to look back and listen to what nature has to say. By that, I mean there are natural and safer ways of addressing GERD symptoms, without putting all the pressure on your liver and pancreas, trying to flush out the drug residues. Simple lifestyle changes such as proper food combining, going for an all-natural herbal colon cleanse, and certain foods that surprisingly speed up the healing process while alleviating pain, will all go a long way towards restoring your health.

There is no one miracle supplement that can cure your acid reflux but rather, a combination of them, coupled with proper adjustments that you can do from the comfort of your own home. Let’s face it. I wish it were as easy as popping up another purple pill. But you’re obviously intelligent enough to know already that method isn’t going to get to the root cause.

Whatever the verdict may be… acid reflux, if left untreated can go from bad to worse. Someone must take action. Will it be you? Or your doctor, again?
