Heartburn Help at Home

[ad_1]

From about the age of 15, I had suffered from the effects of acid indigestion. It continued to plague me through high school, college, and most of my adult life. After sending more than a few executives’ kids through some ivy-league university, I started researching and experimenting with different remedies. I did this in an effort, not only to get some long-lasting relief, but to cut some expenses.

Here’s how I gained complete control over heartburn and acid reflux:

1. I put one teaspoon of aluminum free baking soda in a glass and fill it with 4 to 8 ounces of cold water. Believe me, the colder the water the better. It just goes down easier when the water is cold.

2. I use aluminum free baking soda. After seeing what damage aluminum may cause the brain, I steer clear of run-of-the-mill baking sodas in the baking aisle of most grocery stores.

3. I then stir up the concoction really well and down it in one swoop.

4. Sit back and relax while the witch’s brew does its thing.

That’s it. I understand that it doesn’t cure acid indigestion or acid reflux, but then, neither do the prescriptions or over-the-counter medications. It just costs less and it doesn’t contain something that is going to be involved in some kind of medicine recall or lawsuit. If you have ever watched afternoon syndicated television, you know what I’m talking about.

So which is better? For me, it’s got to be the natural control of the symptoms.

With regards to acid reflux, while I have a better way than aluminum free baking soda to control its symptoms, a good dose of my salty, fizzing cocktail lets me sleep like baby all night. There have been more than a few times that I have broken the cardinal rule of eating after 7:00 P.M. It’s a horrifying feeling waking up from a dead sleep experiencing the same sensations as drowning. I learned quickly that the baking soda remedy applied before bed was perfect in preventing an acid reflux assault.

I can say that this remedy has never failed to deliver relief, quick relief, for my acid indigestion. The doctors say you shouldn’t take too much or any at all. Of course, they would rather write a prescription for you so that they can take that free trip to Europe compliments of their local pharmaceutical representative. I notice that if I have more acid than usual, my stomach doesn’t blow. I just burp or become flatulent for a couple of minutes. My body tends to deal with the pressure of the gas produced in a completely natural way.

The baking soda application is a temporary, but effective protocol for eliminating the symptoms of acid indigestion. I don’t give medical advice. I’m not a trained physician. I can tell you what I do for this malady. Whether or not this is right for you will have to be left up to you.
